PARADE STAGING Information
A few items for you to note for the day of the parade. Please make sure the driver of your vehicle and all parade participants have received this information.
Staging will begin at 4:30 p.m. and all entries should be in place by 5:30 p.m. The Parade starts promptly at 6 p.m.
Entries will only be able to access the Staging Area from the intersection of Kansas St & Pickard Ave. You will not be able to enter the staging area from Main Street or Gray Street.
Only vehicles that are in the parade will be able to enter the Staging Area. Please have your vehicle decorated before entering the Staging Area. Remember all entries must be festively decorated with lights and no entries with Santa will be allowed.
For participants arriving without a vehicle, please drop off outside of the Staging Area and walk into the area to find your spot.
The parade will enter onto Main St at Pickard and travel along Main to James Garner Ave. The parade will exit south (right) on James Garner Avenue.
Main Street will reopen to traffic very quickly after the last parade entries.
Please be sure that you do not block the parade flow on James Garner, do not stop in the street to load or unload passengers from your vehicle.
You may use the parking lot at First Baptist Church if you need to stop.
Also, note that due to the Winterfest on Jones Avenue immediately after the parade, you will not be able to cross the railroad tracks at Main Street.
Please remember that you can NOT throw any candy or other handouts from the vehicles. All candy/handouts must be distributed at the curbs. Any infractions of this rule will disqualify you from future parade entries. This rule is in place to protect the safety of the children and families who are watching the parade. Since the parade is at night, we want to be sure that no children enter the roadway.
If you are in a vehicle, we ask that you use your parking lights during the parade. Please drive slowly and be aware of your surroundings.
Please keep your entry moving, try not to leave gaps between parade entries.
Finally, have a fantastic time and spread as much cheer as possible to the crowd!
WINTERFEST, hosted by Norman Parks & Rec, will begin immediately following the parade. Jones Avenue, between Main Street and Eufaula Street, will be closed for this event.
The awards for the best entries will be announced on Sunday on the parade’s Facebook page. We will contact winners directly the following week.

The parade begins at Norman High School (911 West Main) and will enter onto Main St at Pickard Avenue, traveling east to James Garner Ave in Downtown Norman. There will be 3 DJ/Announcer booths along the route providing festive music and descriptions about each parade entry. For your safety, please stay along the side of the roadway during the parade. If you are parked in the on-street parking spaces along Main Street (between Park Avenue & James Garner), you will not be able to leave until the parade is over. Main Street will reopen to traffic shortly after the final parade entries, please quickly move out of the street.
WinterFest, hosted by Norman Parks & Recreation, will begin shortly after the parade along Jones Avenue, featuring a free concert by our parade Grand Marshals, the Imaginaries. We encourage parade spectators to walk, if able, to the event for live performances, tree-lighting, spectacular drone show, and more. Please use caution crossing the railroad tracks and do not gather on Main Street.
